Microwave Dehydration Behavior of Admontite Mineral at 360W
نویسندگان
چکیده
Dehydration behavior gives a hint about thermal properties of materials. It is important for the usage areas and transportation of minerals. Magnesium borates can be used as additive materials in areas such as in the production of superconducting materials, in the composition of detergents, due to the content of boron in the friction-reducing additives in oils and insulating coating compositions due to their good mechanic and thermal properties. In this study, thermal dehydration behavior of admontite (MgO(B2O3)3.7(H2O)), which is a kind of magnesium borate mineral, is experimented by microwave energy at 360W. Structure of admontite is suitable for the investigation of dehydration behavior by microwave because of its seven moles of crystal water. It is seen that admontite lost its 28.7% of weight at the end of the 120 minutes heating in microwave furnace. Keywords—Admontite, dehydration, magnesium borate, microwave.

Characterization of the Magnesium Borates Hydrothermally Synthesized from Na2B4O7.5H2O, MgCl2 and H3BO3 at the Boiling Point
There are more than 230 boron minerals which contain different amounts of boron oxide (B2O3) percentages. Magnesium borates are one of the boron mineral groups that have important properties of high elasticity coefficient, resistance to corrosion and high heat resistance. In this study, magnesium borate production is studied by hydrothermal synthesis method from a sodium borate mineral of tinca...

ABSTRACT: The combination of pulsed vacuum osmotic dehydration and microwave drying of garlic bulbs were examined. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the effect of NaCl concentration (8%-20%), osmotic solution temperature (25-65°C), operation pressure (240-830 mbar), immersion time (20-300 min) and microwave power level (100-600 W) on water loss (WL), solids gain (SG),...
متن کاملEffect of Different Drying Methods on Saffron (Crocus Sativus L) Quality
The substances responsible for saffron’s characteristic quality are crocins, picrocrocin, and safranal. The drying process is critical to the saffron quality as measured by levels of secondary metabolites, crocin (color and anti-tumor properties), picrocrocin (taste), and safranal (aroma). Four different dehydration methods were evaluated: Iranian traditional method (room temperature); dehy...
متن کاملFeasibility Study on a Microwave-Based Sensor for Measuring Hydration Level Using Human Skin Models.
Tissue dehydration results in three major types of exsiccosis--hyper-, hypo-, or isonatraemia. All three types entail alterations of salt concentrations leading to impaired biochemical processes, and can finally cause severe morbidity. The aim of our study was to demonstrate the feasibility of a microwave-based sensor technology for the non-invasive measurement of the hydration status. Electrom...

In this work firstly MgFe2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized via a microwave-assisted method. The product was calcinated at 900 ºC for 2h. At the second step zinc oxide shell was synthesized on the ferrite under ultrasonic waves. Properties of the product were examined by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Vibr...
